Save The Date

Hi from the CEC! (Community Engagement Committee)

We are trying something new this year! We will be organising a few cooking sessions in the ARC to get together as a school community to cook large batches of soup/stews for the lantern walk. Many hands make light work so we would love to see you there if you are able to join us.

Please email chloecverdouw@gmail.com if you are able to come along for the following initial dates:

Tuesday 19 May - (straight after lineup)
Friday 22 May - (straight after assembly)

Alternatively, if you are keen to make a soup at home, we are aiming to have a variety of soups approx. 10L each to use in our large soup warmers. If you are able to do this please contact Chloe chloecverdouw@gmail.com. Thank you!

Join us on Thursday 21 May at 7.00pm for a Parent Information Session with
Daniel Sih. This event will be held at Calvin Christian School in the Multi-Purpose Hall on the Junior Campus.

Daniel Sih is an award-winning author, TEDx speaker, podcast and YouTube host, and Director of Spacemakers, a productivity consulting group for busy leaders. His books have won seven national and international awards across Australia and the USA. His book Raising Tech-Healthy Humans was also shortlisted for the Australian Christian Book of the Year in 2023.

This Parent Information Session is designed for primary school parents (children aged 0–12), with a focus on building practical skills for healthy and preventative technology use within families.

At Channel, we are committed to promoting a safe online environment. As part of this, we have made decisions regarding the use of student photos in online spaces. A summary of these can be found here: Use of Photos at Channel.

We will continue to take and use photos to celebrate learning and share school activities and events with our families. To do this safely, we have introduced our new Photo Hub site.

Over the holidays, we created the Channel Photo Hub. This is a secure online space where only parents and carers of the school have permission to view photos.

We trust that this system will allow our community to enjoy the wonderful photos taken by our school photographer and communications team, while ensuring the safety and privacy of our students. Please check the link to see if you have access to the site. If not, please email admin@channel.tas.edu.au to let us know and we will troubleshoot any issues.

Travel Arrangements Form

We have updated our travel form for after school pick-up. This can now be found on the Parents Page.

For any new travel arrangements please complete the ‘Ongoing After School Travel Arrangements’ form.

For daily changes please complete the ‘Travel Arrangement Update’ form.
If a change needs to be made after 2.30pm, phone the school office.

Student sign in/out

If you are late to school or if you need to collect your child for an appointment, please come via the school office to sign your child in/out and sign them back in on return.
