From the Principal

Welcome to Term 4, 2025!

It’s hard to believe we have reached the final term of the year already! Many of us are probably wondering, “Where has the time gone?”

I want to encourage you not to let the days simply roll by, one after another. Don’t settle for just getting through each day, each week, each term, or each year. Time is a precious gift from God, and each day is filled with opportunities to notice Him, to grow in Him, and to love Him. Every day is a gift given to you by God on purpose and for a purpose. Let’s make it count!

At Channel Christian School, we believe learning is about more than just reading, writing, and numbers. True learning means getting to know God, discovering the amazing world He made, and using what we learn to make our world a better place. We do this by loving God and living in friendship with Him every day.

This term, as a school, we are focusing on Loving God and what that means for us as a community. We love God because He loved us first! God’s love is big and full of good things; mercy, wisdom, beauty, joy, grace, and peace. The greatest way He showed His love was by sending Jesus, who gave His life so that we could be close to God forever.

Loving God means enjoying Him, trusting Him, and following His ways. When we stay close to Jesus, His Spirit grows in us and helps us to show love, kindness, and joy to others. As we do this, we become like little lights shining God’s goodness in the world and helping others see how great His love is.

Every morning, our students and staff remind themselves of God’s love and how we respond to it, when we say:

“Because He loves us, we are loving to learn and learning to love others.”

May this be true for every day we are blessed to share together as the Channel community.

Video Surveillance at School

To help keep our school a safe and secure place for students, staff and visitors, video cameras are in use around the school grounds. Cameras are located in key areas such as entrances, corridors, playgrounds, and ovals. They are not hidden and are never placed in private areas like toilets or staff rooms.
The footage is only accessed by the Principal (or authorised staff) when needed to investigate incidents, prevent or manage inappropriate behaviour, protect school property, or ensure safety during emergencies.
During the holidays we have had extra cameras installed to ensure we are covering every learning area of the school, inside and outside. If you have any questions about this please read our CST policy on video surveillance.

We understand that due to changing circumstances families leave our community to join another one. This is a reminder that if you are thinking of moving interstate or changing schools, you are required to give 10 weeks notice if you wish to withdraw your child’s enrolment from the school to avoid a penalty. This will also assist us with our planning of classes for 2026. Thank You.

Prayer Wall

• Pray for the Year 3/4 students who have gone on camp. May their time away be filled with fun and excitement whilst strengthening relationships with one another.

• Pray for the Year 6 students as they are now in their final term at Channel. May their term be filled with great learning and preparations for high school. May their hearts hold both gratitude for what has been and anticipation for what is to come. These are signs of how deeply they have loved Channel and how bravely they are growing in embarking on the Calvin Christian High School journey.
