As we reach the end of the term, it is important to pause and reflect on all that has happened. Reflection helps us to stay focused on our mission, vision, and values as a transformational Christian learning community, encouraging us to continue striving for excellence and faithfulness in all that we do.
In John 17:4, Jesus says, ‘I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do.’ These words, spoken in prayer before His death, remind us of the importance of living with purpose and faithfulness. Jesus glorified God in His actions, by remaining obedient and committed to His mission.
In the same way, reflection for us as a school community allows us to consider how we have lived out our own calling this term.
So, what did Term 1 look like?
We grew on our partnership with students in our classes, new staff and families. Students developed new friendships and have shown to be respectful of one another.
We unpacked what Harmony Week means for us and now understand ‘the greatest thing we have in common is our differences’. The students sat initial assessment tasks including Naplan, to provide us with meaningful and useful data to support their learning journeys.
We had a very sport-focussed term with Athletics Carnival, Cross Country, Swimming, Soccer and Netball. Students gave their best, encouraged teammates, and represented the school with integrity. Through all of this they learnt about perseverance, humility, and resilience when things did not go their way. They also had opportunities to serve others. By looking back on all the learning, growth, and challenges, we can better prepare for next term when we will continue our calling as a community to glorify God in all that we do.
