Welcome to Term 2, 2026. On Monday, our staff gathered with all the other CST staff to be reminded of God’s faithfulness for the future. Peter Vander Schoor (founding Principal of Channel) shared from Isaiah 41:10–13, encouraging us to take hold of God’s hand as we walk through all that this term may bring. ‘Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ — Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV)
Fear often arises when we rely on our own abilities and recognise our limitations, it is a natural response to uncertainty, danger, or feeling overwhelmed. Yet in Isaiah 41, God does not merely offer self-help advice or tell His people to ignore their fears. Instead, He reminds us of His sovereignty over all things, and we find that He graciously lends His strength to our weakness. What a wonderful assurance: our security is not found in ourselves, but in God’s active and personal presence with us, to the point where He personally holds our hand like a loving Father.
This truth speaks into every aspect of school life and beyond. Whether it is the Year 5/6 student trip to Canberra, visits from the School Registration Board, mid-year reports, or broader concerns like fuel costs and the rising costs of living, global conflict, or uncertainty about the future, we are reminded that we do not need to be afraid.
So, what situation might be causing you anxiety at the moment? Rather than focusing on the size of the problem or searching anxiously for solutions, we are encouraged to focus on God’s presence and remember that we are held securely in His ‘righteous right hand’.
