Celebrating unique skills and talents
It is always lovely to share the achievements of our students in various competitions. From academic challenges to sporting events, our students have showcased their unique skills and talents in remarkable ways. These experiences have been an exciting journey for students, parents, and teachers alike, as we cheer on each effort, applaud each accomplishment, and grow through each learning experience.
Competitions are not just about winning a medal or a certificate—they’re opportunities for our children to discover their God-given talents, test their perseverance, and build confidence. In 1 Peter 4:10, we read, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” This verse reminds us that every skill, talent, and passion is a gift from God, entrusted to us so we can grow, serve, and bring joy to those around us.
Through competitions, students experience that their talents are unique, special, and valuable. They may find themselves standing on a podium or receiving an award, but they learn that even in challenges or setbacks, God is working through them. As they try, learn, and grow, they discover resilience, discipline, and the importance of teamwork—all qualities that reflect God’s guidance and strength within us.
We are proud of each student who steps forward and participates, showing courage, dedication, and a willingness to give their best. They’re inspiring examples of our school values in action and reminders of the incredible things that happen when we encourage each other to "run with perseverance the race marked out for us" (Hebrews 12:1).
This year, several of our students from Years 3 to 6 were selected by their teachers to participate in the International Competitions and Assessments for Schools, or ICAS for short. ICAS is an opportunity for students to challenge themselves, grow in confidence, and showcase their skills in subjects like English, Maths, Science, Spelling, Writing, and Digital Technologies.
This Thursday at lineup, we will be celebrating all students who took part in these competitions. Special recognition will go to those who achieved certificates of Merit, Credit, and Distinction.
Thank you to our teachers and parents, who nurture and support our students in using their talents wisely. Your encouragement and faith shape their journey as they explore and develop the gifts God has given them. Let’s continue to pray for each of our students, celebrating each achievement as a blessing, and guiding them to use their talents for God’s glory.
